Born in Kinhasa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo of Africa, on January 2, 1992, Fatuma Kalumbwa began modeling last year in 2017. Fatuma currently resides in Switzerland and has lived there since the age of 8-years-old, which she says is a very beautiful and clean country and she feels lucky to live there. She is now a Swiss citizen. Although she has been separated from her mother for the last five years and found this difficult, Fatuma says she tries to continue getting on with her life. She speaks English, French and German, which she says also comes in handy with her pursuing her modeling career.
While still waiting for her big break, Fatuma has said that one of her biggest accomplishments to date is doing photoshoots with leading Swiss portrait and fashion photographers. Fatuma enjoy fitness, travel, and music as hobbies. She loves fashion and fashion accessories as well.
Fatuma tells TalentRaters that she studied telecommunications at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne in Switzerland, a university that specializes in natural sciences and engineering. Fatuma loves telephony communication and wanted to understand it better. After college, she worked at Orange Communications in Switzerland as well as working in administration.
While looking to expand her modeling career, Fatuma would like to work in fashion, lingerie, Swiss wear, commercial and promotional. She would also like to travel extensively. She has visited New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas which she described as vibrant and exciting, the land of opportunity.
Fatuma says her biggest influence is Naomi Campbell, an English model, actress, and singer. Her advice to other aspiring models out there is to simply do your best. Fatuma has worked hard to get where she is and continues to work hard in expanding her modeling career. We at TalentRaters look forward to seeing Fatuma breaking in to the modeling industry.
